Please take the limousine bus from Ibaraki airport to Mito station. ※From Ibaraki Airport to "Mito Station north exit" (about 70 minutes)

Daikumachi 1-chome local redevelopment area

In the area around Daikumachi 1-chome there are wonderful tourist attractions and urban facilities.
It is an area with everything from the lush green Kairakuen Park and Semba Lake to historical buildings as well as modern institutions like the Art Tower Mito, and many places to shop and dine. Daikumachi especially has long been famous as a downtown area, and there are many fashionable bars and fine restaurants popular among those in the know.
It is also conveniently located, with approximately 160 busses per day coming through the "Daikumachi stop", which is right in front of the redevelopment area. Also the location of the expressway bus stop, it can be called an extremely convenient location in terms of access.

Semba Lake 10 minutes walk

Semba Lake is located 10 minutes from the hotel on foot, and is a lake of the Naka River water system in Mito City, Ibaraki Prefecture. The circumference of the lake is 3,000m. Lined with cherry trees, it is well known as a course for jogging and walks. On the banks of the lake are The Museum of Modern Art, Ibaraki and the Ibaraki Prefecture Citizens Cultural Center, and the Semba Park is also nearby.

The total area of Semba Park combined with the adjacent Kairakuen Park forms the 2nd largest urban park in the world next to Central Park in New York. There is also a temporary event space where events including Taiga Drama events are held.

Kairakuen Park 10 minutes walk

Kairakuen is a Japanese-style garden in Mito City, Ibaraki Prefecture located 10 minutes from the hotel on foot. Together with Korakuen in Okayama and Kenrokuen in Kanazawa, it is one of the "3 Great Japanese Gardens". The overall area of the park is approximately 58 hectares, making it the 2nd largest urban park in the world next to Central Park in New York.

There are also 3000 plum trees of 100 types planted within, and in the park there is the "Kobun Restaurant", which derives from "Kobunboku", another name for the plum tree. Each year from the end of February to the end of March, the "Mito Plum Festival" is held, where the plum trees are lit up by candlelight for a "Night Plum Festival" and tea party among other events take place.

Art Tower Mito 15 minutes walk

Art Tower Mito is located 15 minutes from the hotel on foot. Opened on March 22, 1990, it is a complex facility in Mito City, Ibaraki Prefecture combining an art museum, concert hall, and theatre. The building was planned in commemoration of the 100 year anniversary of the municipal organization of Mito, and a 100m high symbolic spiral tower (Art Tower) made from titanium equilateral triangle panels towers over the building. There is also an observation room 86.4m above ground from where Mito City and its outskirts can be viewed.

In the entrance there is an 11m high open space furnished with a pipe organ, and concerts are also held here. Outside in the center there is a grass plaza and Japanese zelkova trees facing the road where outdoor concerts, flea markets, etc., are held.

Tokugawa Museum 15 minutes walk

Located 15 minutes from the hotel on foot, the Tokugawa Museum was opened in 1977 as a museum established from historical daimyo tools and ancient documents donated by Kuniyuki Tokugawa, 13th head of the Mito Tokugawa Family.

It is a unique museum where historical records of the "Mito Tokugawa Family" can be viewed. The approximately 30,000 treasured relics of the Tokugawa possessed by the museum focus on articles of Ieyasu Tokugawa as well as his first generation son Yorifusa and the 2nd generation Mitsukuni.

Tokiwa Shrine 10 minutes walk

Located 10 minutes from the hotel by foot, the Tokiwa Shrine is on the east side of the "Kairakuen", which is one of the "3 Great Japanese Gardens". The largest scale shrine in Mito City, it is visited by many people throughout the year. The shrine awards a seal case with the aoi-mon coat of arms which is well-known from the Matsuri Drama Mito Komon which features Komon Mito, also known as Mitsukuni Tokugawa, and the 9th generation feudal lord Nariaki Tokugawa.

It enshrines Mitsukuni Tokugawa known as Mito Komon and the 9th generation feudal lord Nariaki Tokugawa, also awards a seal case with the aoi-mon.
